It was founded on 16 December 1919, by Tsui Yan Sau Peter (1889 1980). It is a Roman Catholic secondary school for boys run by the Chinese Province of the Society of Jesus. Fully subsidized by the Government of Hong Kong, it is a grammar school using English as the medium of instruction. It has an enrolment of approximately 960 with 58 teachers and Irish Jesuit Fathers. The Supervisor of the College is Rev. Fr. Stephen Chow, S.J., who is an alumnus of the College, a Roman Catholic Jesuit priest, and an educational psychologist with a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree from Harvard University. The current Principal of the College is Mr. Tam Siu Ping, George.
