Joyce Sweeney has written many novels for young adults, including The Spirit Window, an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, Shadow, Free Fall, Takedown, and Players. She teaches creative writing and has also published poems, short stories, and articles in a variety of magazines. Ms. Sweeney and her husband, Jay, live in Coral Springs, Florida with their cat, Macoco.
