Classes currently racing at Wake County include: Super Late Models, Limited Latemodels, Modified Four Cylinders, Stock Four Cylinders, UCARS, Legends Cars, and Mini Cups. The Pro All Star Series South division is the only regional touring series that has a date at Wake County.Wake County Speedway was established in 1962 by Glenn and Marvin Simpkins. At its conception, the track was a 1/4 mile clay race track. Many former NASCAR drivers have made appearances during the tracks history. Those drivers include J.D. McDuffie, Benny Parsons, Ken Schrader, Loy Allen, Jr., Dennis Setzer and Randy Renfrow. In 1987, the track was resurfaced with asphalt and remains that way today.
