Students learn how to solicit sponsorship, how to plan the budget, how to determine project needs vs. project wants, and how to make business involvement a win for all participants. SOS publicizes the event in the school and community via posters, video commercials, and press releases. SOS club supervisor Michael Meyer has organized this project in three North Carolina middle schools.
