The Walk-In Selection (WIS) / Balloting Exercise (BE) system was withdrawn on 15 March 2007 in favour for a computed balloting system called the bi-monthly sale exercise starting from April 2007.Since January 2002, HDB announced on that it would conduct a one-off selection exercise to invite all the existing applicants in the queue under its Registration for Flat (RFS) System to select a flat in the non-mature estates such as Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Jurong, Punggol, Sengkang, Sembawang, Woodlands and Yishun towns.Beginning from April 2002, HDB will be offering 3-room & bigger flats in non-mature & some mature estates for sale on a town basis through a Walk In Selection (WIS) process. The units will now be offered for sale progressively in batches to clear the backlog of 30,000 HDB units through the WIS process to the general public.
