Growing up is hard enough, but growing up in the hood is even harder. My city is beautiful, it has its luxury middle class residences, and then there are the ghettos. MY HOOD. Listen, growing up you either became a statistic or you did the unthinkable and try to make it out. Too often young black kids are exposed to drugs, sex, and violence, but in the hood, all this shit was normal. I was left to learn how to fend for myself with all that going on. I made the decision to break away from being broken and lost. I decided to break my generational curses and refused to be another victim in these streets. Walk With Me Young Girl takes the reader through what it's like being a black girl from the hood being raised in black families, and touches on why most black women are considered angry in hopes to open the reader's mind to understanding the pain of being a young black girl to a grown woman in Ghetto America.
