He makes walking along the shoreline or listening to waves an experience that is the pathway to love and the love of God. Memory and tender affection are the wellsprings of his art. James Miller began writing poetry as an undergraduate in the English department at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in creative writing, James continued to New York University where he received his Master of Fine Arts in poetry. After graduating, he began teaching creative writing and English composition at the college level. Since then, his poetry has been published widely both at home in the States and abroad.
