The population was 251 at the 2000 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.9 square miles (93.0 km²), of which, 34.9 square miles (90.4 km²) of it is land and 1.0 square miles (2.6 km²) of it (2.81%) is water.As of the census of 2000, there were 251 people, 92 households, and 65 families residing in the township. The population density was 7.2 people per square mile (2.8/km²). There were 102 housing units at an average density of 2.9/sq mi (1.1/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.80% White, 0.40% from other races, and 0.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.20% of the population.
