Walt Disney's purpose in his career was not only entertainment but education. This piece explores the body of Walt's work in film, television, and the Disneyland theme park, and Walt's educational motives in creating them. In particular, Sorsher investigates the use of these new mediums in giving students of all ages a science education. Walt Disney: Mind Over Mouse is a look at a transitional era in education, between the rote memorization of the Cold War and the incipient focus on STEM. Walt Disney was part of the vanguard who saw the potential of technology, and entertainment, in schools.
