Pelai Pagès i Blanch Ph.D. (1949), University of Barcelona, is Professor of Contemporary History at that university. He is the author of several monographs and articles on the Spanish Civil War, including The War Industry Commision of Catalonia, 1936-1938 (Publicacions de l'Abadia de Montserrat, 2008). Patrick L. Gallagher is associate professor of Spanish at Kent State University, where he specializes in 19th-21st century Spain, and teaches Spanish language, literature, culture, history and politics.
