In these cities, urbanization is marked by the anarchic occupation of urban space and the proliferation of informal settlements. The result of an industrial revolution with its advantages and disadvantages, characterized by accentuated environmental degradation due to the dumping of waste all around cities, requiring better policy guidance to prevent any risk of pollution. In the light of the above, the aim of this research is to assess the role of waste in Cameroon in asserting the fundamental right to a healthy environment. This issue is part of the global orientation of environmental protection, which is currently crystallizing around the issue of climate change.

TAMOUYA Aurélien is a teacher-researcher at the Centre Nation d'Education of the Ministry of Research in Cameroon. Currently completing a PhD in Environmental Law, the author specializes in environmental law and the law of (non-renewable) natural resources. He is also an active member of CSOs.
