Industrial growth all over the world including Iraq is associated with significant amounts of non-biodegradable solid wastes such as plastic which can cause serious threats to the environment if they are discarded without proper management. This study investigates the possibility of using waste plastic as one of the components of used lead - acid batteries to replace fine and coarse aggregate for the production of lightweight concrete. Compressive strength, fresh density , thermal conductivity , impact resistance and leaching test was studied and the findings of this study indicated a sustainable alternative solution for reducing the effects on the environment posed by waste lead acid battery plastic.
