Waste is inevitably formed in the technosphere of modern technological society and affects the safety of human life, polluting and replacing the natural environment. A determining place among many factors characterizing wastes is occupied by their odors, which can unite everything that a human being sees, hears, feels, remembers, desires and aspires to. Nature has created them, somehow the only thing for which man has not even managed to define the standard of its measurement, although he feels its existence and uses it to assess the risks and his safety in the technosphere. The author hopes that the presented interdisciplinary review will serve the quality of the system of solidarity environmental education and quantitative assessment of technosphere safety.
