M. Ramkumar Lodhi poursuit son doctorat à l'École d'études en zoologie de l'Université Jiwaji, Gwalior (M.P.), en Inde. Il a obtenu un M.Sc. et un M.Phil. (Zoologie) de la même université. Il a publié de nombreux articles de recherche dans des revues nationales et internationales. Ses domaines de prédilection sont la conservation et la gestion de la faune sauvage, la limnologie et l'ornithologie.
