The author is a BSRN graduate of Skidmore College and has practiced public health and hospital nursing in New Haven, Connecticut and Providence, Rhode Island. She is the author of Markings of Mercy: The Story of After Abortion Help Line, Love Letters to Jack, and My Book of Happy Memories. Married to Jack for 58 years, Joan is the mother of 6 children, grandmother of 19, and great-grandmother of 6. She resides in Providence, Rhode Island.
