Waterloo continues to attract far greater attention than any other action in the Napoleonic Wars, perhaps because of the sheer drama as Wellington makes a desperate last stand and Napoleon risks all on a single battle. Andrew Uffindell has gained considerable fame in Europe in recent years for two extensive works on the Waterloo Campaign. Much of the Waterloo battlefield survived the two World Wars and has been preserved as it was in 1815.
