This paper focuses on the Fundo de Pasto communities of Canaã and São Gonçalo da Serra, located in Sobradinnho/BA. It presents the culture, form of organization, concept of Fundo de Pasto and the history of the formation of the communities. It reports on the relationship with the natural components of the caatinga, the management of the space in environmental and productive aspects, which has goat farming as its main focus, and also makes proposals for public policies.
