The young political states of Central and Eastern Europe are still at the very beginning of their economic development. Against this background, the focus of these countries should clearly be on building up their economies. But moreover, even at this point we are faced with the question if the classic model of the social market economy can still be considered valid in the light of some promising new concepts and approaches, which offer detailed propositions.

The Author: Eberhard Grein was born in Hildesheim in 1959. He studied business administration and management at the university of the German Federal Armed Forces and political sciences in Munich. At the Academy for Leadership and Communication in Frankfurt am Main he completed a training course to become a public realtions consultant. Furthermore, he completed a general management training program at the University for Social and Economic Sciences St. Gallen. In addition to his professional career he obtained his doctorate at the University in Bratislava.
