The concepts of style and stylistics are closely connected to a rich variety of research domains that tackle language and literature. Drawing its resources from numerous linguistic or literary fields, such as semantics, lexicology, morphology, syntax, phonetics and phonology, sociology, cultural studies, statistics, etc., to mention only a few, linguistic stylistics proves difficult to define when needing to establish a clear distinction from other linguistic branches. The same thing happens with the concept of style, equally ambiguous. The impossibility of drawing this distinction between linguistic and literary stylistics allows for the constant inter-layering of the two. However, the present study focuses on a linguistic stylistic approach. There are various approaches to style and stylistics within the international linguistic community. Studies have shown that it all depends on the purpose envisaged by the researcher and on the purpose of the analysis itself. Taking into consideration the complexity of the issue, the multifaceted aspects of stylistics can result in a wide range of different interpretations when investigating the way language works within literary texts.
