The growth of mobile communication over last few years has become extraordinary and unbelievable. The increased market of mobile users and their will to connect everywhere at any time to access high data rate services with different hardware makes the mobile communication extraordinary. 3G based WCDMA systems provide a platform to access all these services with support of latest handsets to large number of users. But random channel impairments, co-channel & MAI degrades the WCDMA performance and becomes a major obstacle for users. So,there is a need to analyze the WCDMA performance over various fading channels. In this book, performance is analyzed with the help of gaussian approximation technique under various fading distributions and different power control mechanism with receiver structures. Different kind of fading like weibull, rayleigh, rician & nakagami have been applied to Gaussian Approximated WCDMA system to generate faded transmitted signal and BER is calculated accordingly at the output of conventional receiver. Performance comparison b/w perfect power control based rake receiver and conventional receiver is also done under the severer effect of rayleigh fading.
