GET ON THE TEAM BUS FOR AN EXCITING FOUR MONTH RIDE ... WE BALL Y'ALL: Diary of a Championship Quest is the personal diary of veteran basketball coach Dennis King of Brentwood High School in Tennessee. Returning four starters from a 30-5 final-four season a year earlier, expectations were high. Another district championship was expected, another region championship was highly probable, another sectional win was a distinct possibility, but a return to the state tournament was imperative. The taste of playing on the state's biggest stage was intoxicating, and 17 young men and their grizzled coach yearned for another drink. The book captures the emotional ride of player-coach interaction, off-court drama, on-court intensity, locker room tirades, thirty-two glorious victories and three painful defeats. The author also reflects on an array of topics ranging from competition, education, religion, family and aging. Get on the team bus and sit next to the coach. You will view a special and historic season of high school basketball, as seen through the eyes of its chief architect - Coach Dennis King.
