This book is about changing the narrative for not¿¿ ¿¿only our black and minority youth, but it is about changing the mindset and culture for all blacks and minorities. This book is to help shape the minds of blacks and minorities that think they can't achieve certain things or that think they don't deserve better in their lives. This book is to give little gems of information that is not taught in school, especially in the black and minority neighborhoods and not necessarily taught in the black and minority homes. This book talks about the most important thing that all humans can control, and that is our mindset. Thinking positively or negatively and how that thought process can affect your actions and flow of life. It also talks about different forms of education, how to save our money, different ways to invest and also to love one another instead of hating on each other. This book is a blueprint to getting things in your life that some thought was too far to reach.

Autorenporträt
NEVER IN A million years did I think I would have written abook, let alone a book inspired by so many experiencesand knowledge gained to help encourage others. Never ina million years did I think I would have been so encouragedby this book that I would have more ideas to createother books to come. The reason I say this is because Iwas a young black kid born in Norfolk, VA, and moved toAtlanta, GA when I was 4. I was raised in Atlanta and I amAtlanta to the core. Growing up, my parents worked hardto make sure my brothers and I were in a good position tosucceed, but along the way, I have seen things that couldhinder that success. I've seen drugs in my community, gangs, tension withlaw enforcement, and every other hurdle that could keepme behind the eight ball and make me another statistic. What kept me from falling into these worldly traps weresports, school, and opportunities. I was a hooper and Iloved school. When I was around 11, I went to Spain witha program called People to People. You had to be a student-athlete to be accepted, and what the program offered wasfor young children to be able to play their sport abroad. Iwas fortunate enough to be able to go to Spain for a summerto play basketball, where not only did my team winour tournament, but I also won MVP of the tournament. This experience showed me that there is more in the worldthan just Atlanta, GA. This experience also was the start tomy love for traveling. When I began my journey in college,I had my first son as a sophomore and decided that in orderto provide, I had to make a drastic decision. So, I went into the military and did 4 years in the U.S.Army. With this opportunity, I got to travel more and finishmy education, which are two things I loved. God has blessedme in my journey and I have gained a lot of knowledgethroughout the years. There are a lot of young people fromwhere I am from or places like it around the world that don'tor haven't had the opportunities that I have been blessedwith, but that doesn't mean they can't get everything theydeserve out of life. That is what inspired this book. I am aGod-fearing man, a husband, a father, a Veteran, a sportsfanatic, and a person who wants to help others.
