The application of alloy composites as an alternative material for the manufacturing of industrial components is getting boosted day by day. This may be due to extensive research and better mechanical characteristics of such alloy composites. This work reinforced aluminum alloy (Al-5Mg) with 12% SiC and prepared through stir casting. The alloy composite samples were tribologically evaluated for dry sliding conditions, and their aging and corrosion characteristics were studied and reported. It is observed that reinforcement of SiC enhanced tribological, aging, and corrosion performance.
