Web-based learning, as a strong manifestation of e-learning, has also become indispensible within the tertiary education context. Web-based learning is powerful in many aspects in both traditional curriculum as well as online courses. The author investigated the views of 602 end-users toward the significance of the Web as a learning resource. The results indicated a strong recognition of the role of the Web as tool for communication, information retrieval, collaborative learning and assessment. Differences were also identified between the perceived expectations of web-based education by teaching staff and students, and the ways in which it was conducted and managed. The book contributes valuable insights from the end-users perspective. Recommendations are made on the further development and modification of the Web adoption at the tertiary education level.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Si Fan completed her PhD at the University of Tasmania, Australia, in 2011. She is currently a lecturer and academic researcher at the same university. She has participated in a number of university research projects. Dr. Si Fan has a wide range of publications in web-based learning, ESL education and teacher education.
