Randall Collins grew up in country New South Wales before moving to Wollongong to begin working with BHP at its Port Kembla steelworks as electrical engineering cadet. He spent more than 17 years in various departments before leaving and crossing the continent to live in Perth, Western Australia. For the last 17 years, he has worked with identification systems. He now lives in Rockingham, South of Perth, with his family and enjoys the coastal lifestyle that the city offers.
