Victor Behring Bittner grew up in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as one of four sons of Lutheran minister Rev. Louis O. Bittner and his wife Irma Behring Bittner. He attended Luther College, Concordia College/St. Paul, Valparaiso University, and Concordia Seminary in Springfield, Illinois (now the seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana). He was ordained and installed as a Lutheran pastor and served three congregations of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod from 1959 to 1973. He holds an AA degree from Concordia/St. Paul and a BD from Concordia Seminary, Springfield, Illinois. His name remained on the pastor roster of the Missouri Synod many years and was never officially removed from that list. He was in charismatic ministry from 1973 to 1980 when he began attending an Assembly of God Church and began research on the subject of this book. His research was directed in part by the authors and books listed in the extensive notes of this book. His research was more directed by the leading and guiding of God's Holy Spirit into the Triune God's activity in the prophecies and events relating to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus from the dead, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the church, and the baptism related to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
