Autorenporträt
Dr. Scott began practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in Asheville, NC in 1993. After 20 years of providing care to women in Asheville, Dr. Scott made the brave decision to step away from active daily practice in order to reflect, renew, and redirect in both her personal and professional life. During 2014, Dr. Scott obtained a second board certification in Integrative Holistic Medicine. At the same time, Dr. Scott also became a Certified Menopause Practitioner through the North American Menopause Society. Through her years of practice and continued education, Dr. Scott knows that lifestyle is an integral part of health and wellness. In order to assist women in their pursuit of health and wellness through practical lifestyle changes, Dr. Scott became a certified facilitator of the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP). To hone in on her specialty in Gynecology, Dr. Scott completed advanced training through the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Since January 2014, Dr. Scott also pursued several personal goals before returning to practice at Asheville Gynecology and Wellness. During her time away from full-time practice, she volunteered at the ABCCM Medical Clinic. In the summer of 2014, she traveled to Cusco, Peru where she participated in mission work through CerviCusco, an organization dedicated to improving care for women with cervical disease. To further develop her wilderness abilities, she completed a 2-week course in Light Backpacking in New Mexico taught by the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Dr. Scott is deeply committed to caring for women in Western North Carolina. She combines her devotion to conventional medicine with her knowledge of healing arts to empower others to live life more fully.
