Autorenporträt
Lindsay Varty is an award-winning writer and former professional rugby player based in Hong Kong. She lives and breathes Hong Kong and is fascinated by its culture and history. As a young girl, her parents would take her to eat congee in Kowloon, order snacks from street stalls, and get haircuts at traditional barber shops. Her parents wanted their children to discover the real city and to know its people. Welly the Wild Boar is her attempt to share and celebrate that love with other children growing up in Hong Kong. Lindsay now gives talks to schools and societies and runs walking tours which focus on local culture. Her work has been featured by TEDx, CNN and The Guardian. She hopes that her work can encourage people to take a deeper interest in heritage and community.
