Autorenporträt
Christine Wortman-Engren was born on July 21, 1948, in Havre, Montana. Eulela and Dick Wortman took their baby girl home to the south side of the Bear Paw Mountains where her grandparents had homesteaded since 1916. Chris graduated from Big Sandy High in 1966 and earned a B.A. in English, followed by an M.A. in education and an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana. Along the way, Chris had two sons, Kole and Lacy, both of whom graduated from C. M. Russell High School in Great Falls, where Chris taught English and coached Speech and Debate. Now retired, Chris enjoys waterskiing, snowmobiling, off-road exploring, chasing cattle from the back of a good horse, and dancing. She also enjoys listening to her sons and granddaughters sing and play music. She and her husband Chuck spend winters in Arizona and summers on Seeley Lake, Montana. Her sons still stay close to the homestead and raise cattle there.
