Jim Ridings is a former newspaper reporter and editor who has won a number of awards for investigative reporting at newspapers in Ottawa and Aurora. He is the author of 30 local history books, several of which have won awards from the Illinois State Historical Society. He was presented a Studs Terkel bronze medal from the Illinois Humanities Council in 2006.
