Levinas answers it precisely on the level of the individual. For Levinas, ethic is, remarkably the connection of person to person. Specifically, through the reading of To Kill a Mockingbird within the theory of Levinas's ethics of Alterity we can answer this question in contact with the Other. This book focused on the Levinasian ethics of Morality. It intends to show how ethical Harper Lee's characters are in this novel according to Levinas' perspective.
