Autorenporträt
Rhonda Leah Twiner is a native of South Central Mississippi but, following Hurricane Katrina, lived in Destin, Florida, for several years. She earned her bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree of elementary education from William Carey University. Both educational institutions are located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Prior to beginning her teaching career, Ms. Twiner worked in legal and corporate offices. She says her first love was music, and she studied classical piano from the age of five through college. She has served as a full-time church musician since age twelve in positions that include the following: principal accompanist/pianist, organist, handbell choir director, adult and youth choir director, and church music director. Ms. Twiner was a high school drum major for four years. She also earned her place in the Mississippi Lions All-State Band, where she earned the top chair position in that prestigious musical organization with her clarinet for two out of three years. Presently, she teaches elementary school music in Laurel, Mississippi. Ms. Twiner has three sisters, three adult children, and five grandchildren, the oldest granddaughter being named Lexi after whom she named one of her first book's characters Lexi Longstocking.
