We are living in a critical time as African Americans and need to realize the power we have as individuals and as a unified group. We have the power to control our narrative and bring money back into our communities and HBCUs. Imagine if our top athletic talent decided to attend HBCUs. Imagine the potential seismic shift of power and finances that could drastically change the college sports landscape. This is a unique story that needs to be told. My academic, sports, and social experiences while matriculating at an HBCU are some of my most treasured and positive memories. I have tried to impart the flavor of those experiences while writing What Follows.
