Bevor sie anfing zu schreiben, arbeitete Meg Rosoff in vielen verschiedenen Jobs, unter anderem im Verlagswesen und in der Werbung. 1989 zog sie von New York nach London, wo sie heute mit ihrem Mann und ihrer Tochter lebt. Ihre Romane wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. mit dem Deutschen Jugendliteraturpreis. In Großbritannien stand sie mit "So lebe ich jetzt" lange auf der Bestsellerliste für Erwachsene. Meg Rosoff wurde 2016 mit dem "Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) ausgezeichnet.
