What is a Democrat reviews what the Democratic presidents have done and provides insight into the current election with Kamala Harris substituting for Joe Biden. There is a noticeable connection between the last few Democratic presidents dating back to Andrew Jackson and Buchanan, but there have been significant changes in both the 20th and 21st centuries in attitudes and approaches. The question of America sliding into socialism is questioned and demonstrated. Posing as fighters for democracy, the Democrat's actions in pursuing special interest groups belie that stance. John Benedict believes that people should vote for a candidate who has both skills and experience for the most challenging job in America. That same candidate must be focused on America's success. Too often, voting decisions are made emotionally for reasons of esthetics, loyalty to a Party, tradition, or single interest, resulting in the satisfaction of one's moral preference or financial benefit from the government. Those purposes do not make America better but allows mammoth problems that are catching up with this country, promising a troubled future.

Autorenporträt
John Benedict has become an author at a very late time in his life. Having had a successful career as an engineer turned marketer, he is now accepting the challenge of writing two books about his 60-year-old hobby of politics. He has averaged perhaps an hour a day for 60 years reading and listening to political information. The length of time over many historical political actions, from the assassination of John Kennedy to the unusual circumstance of a president becoming too senile to hold office, provides him with an overall viewpoint that is rare.John Benedict wrote his first book just months ago and his second book is in the editing process. This will be his third, all written in 2024.
