Sharon Simon est une s¿ur, une fille, une amie, une collègue et une mère de personnes souffrant de divers troubles psychiatriques. Ce livre lui a été inspiré par la lutte de son frère contre le trouble bipolaire et par la façon dont elle a expliqué à ses enfants les aspects extrêmes de sa personnalité. Elle est gestionnaire de laboratoire pour l'Agence de la santé publique du Canada depuis plus de vingt ans, ainsi que tutrice accréditée auprès d'enfants dyslexiques. Mère de quatre jeunes adultes, Sharon vit à Winnipeg avec son mari et ses trop nombreux animaux de compagnie !
