Dr. Michelle Deering helps the disconnected Rebuild, Restore, and Renew(TM) connections to themselves and others so they can reach their personal, professional, and peak performance goals. Through her writing, speaking, consulting, and psychological services, she helps individuals and organizations face their current situations, clarify their goals, and engage in strategic action to improve their lives. Michelle struggled making connections with others and finding her true passion. As a young child, she suffered sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Today, as a transformed woman, Michelle invests her time in helping others see their true reflection in their Life Mirror and equipping them to courageously pursue their dreams. She is the founder and CEO of Curative Connections, a premier consulting company offering keynote speaking, consultation, and sport psychology services. Dr. Deering earned her B.A. degree in biology from Brown University, M. Ed. degree from Cambridge College, and her doctoral degree in counseling psychology from Rutgers University. She is a North Carolina and New Jersey state-licensed clinical psychologist and a board-certified sport psychologist through the American Board of Sport Psychology. She has advanced training in trauma treatment and is both a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapist and an Approved EMDR Consultant through the EMDR International Association. Michelle and her husband, Scott, are parents of twin daughters and live outside The Research Triangle in North Carolina.
