What Was There All Along by Barbara McCauley Cardona is a book of poems that takes the reader through a lifetime's experiences within the confines of one year's four seasons. Deeply felt, it is written in a language where the rhythms of everyday American English serve to create the hesitations and moods of thought and feeling with an accuracy and sensitivity that makes the poems immediately accessible.
