BEN STEIN, a graduate of Yale Law School, worked as a trial lawyer and a poverty lawyer. He taught about the political and social content of mass culture and law and economics at American University; the University of California, Santa Cruz; and Pepperdine University. He was a speech writer for Presidents Nixon and Ford, a columnist for the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, a bestselling author several times over, a teacher of finance, a screenwriter, a novelist, and has also enjoyed a career as an actor, most notably for his role as the droning teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, recently ranked one of the fifty most famous scenes in American film.
