"What use," he reasoned, "is survival at any cost ... if we become little more than animals?" Believing each other dead, Greg and Emmie fight to survive in a post-apocalyptic world of isolation, desperation and vigilantes. Their own child lost, Emmie traumatically conceives a child she hates. Even should they find each other, Emmie's tragic secret and Greg's drastic transformation threaten to destroy the foundations on which a new future together might be built in the harsh wilderness around them.

Autorenporträt
Though writing from an early age, Jo Wilkinson majored in the Fine Arts, earning an honours degree in sculpture at Winchester School of Art and Design. Her appetite for adventure and travel led her to a career as an international English teacher residing in Italy, Greece, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines and Japan. Now retired, Jo has returned to her writing, drawing on her linguistic background and accumulated wealth of global and cultural experiences to conjure worlds for her readers to explore. When not writing, she enjoys spending time with family, painting, sculpting, and volunteering with her local CVSS group enabling the disabled to sail. Still with a zest for adventure, she recently earned a powerboat licence - to the amusement of her grand kids.
