This book will give children accurate information pertaining to the building of the United States of America to include the capturing of black Africans to be taken from Africa, being sold to the islands and ending up in the United States of America. Children will learn about the Atlantic Slave Trade, The Middle Passage, being brought to the United States of America, being subjected to cruel treatment because of the color of their skin. Children will learn about black explorers (like Ramesses III, Juan Garrido, King Abubakari II, the Nino Brothers, etc.) who explored prior to or with Christopher Columbus, abolitionists (like Richard Allen, Frederick Douglass, Harriett Tubman, Sojourner Truth, etc.) and civil rights leaders (like Marcus Garvey, Huey Newton, John Lewis, Medger Evers, etc.) and others who fought for freedom as well as the rights of blacks in America, laws as well as rules put in place. They will learn how the building of the United States of America was done by the horrible treatment of black African people. This book exhibits pictures/images that children can relate to and eagerly understand. There are some sections that will require viewer discretion. Discussion questions at the end of each chapter allows children to be actively engaged.
