Neun Jahre ist Anna alt, als sie mit ihren Eltern und ihrem Bruder fluchtartig Deutschland verlassen muß. Nur das Nötigste kann bei diesem Umzug mitgenommen werden, so bleibt auch das vielgeliebte rosa Kaninchen zurück. Die Umstellung auf das neue Land ist nicht leicht und nochmals muß die Familie den Ort wechseln. Sie ziehen aus der Schweiz nach Paris und dann nach London.
