Autorenporträt
Asif Shakoor is a full-time physician at Erie, Pennsylvania. He was born in Pakistan and lived most of his life in Brooklyn, New York. He is married and has five wonderful children. His passions include teaching, drawing, reading, writing, collecting antique books, and playing handball. He is the author of Let There Be Light in Darkness. He is a meditative Sufi mystic who believes that only with the conscious eye can we erase the boundaries between I and We. Maliha Shakoor is a sixteen-year-old high school student who has a great passion for the arts. Starting at a very young age, she started drawing on anything she could find. Her vision for life is her artistic inspiration. It is through her art we find love and beauty in the world. She is also the author's proud daughter. Benjamin Aysan was born in Turkey and came to America in 2010 with his family. He was inspired to do calligraphy by Adyin Cayir and Melik Sayin, prominent Turkish artists. He managed Turkish cultural centers in Portland and Salt Lake City. His artistic work was well received in Erie festivals and the Living Traditions Festival. Currently he is the community outreach coordinator of Turkish community in Pittsburgh.
