The plot was terrific, with a twist I never would have thought of (or have read of so far - what a great idea!). However, it was buried beneath too much description and repetitiveness. While I appreciated some of the information about Indiana food and that area's way of life, there was more than one

While I appreciated some of the information about Indiana food and that area's way of life, there was more than one occasion where I would have preferred the story to go on faster instead of stopping by the roadside to enjoy the view.
Also, I was a bit disappointed about how things continued after the surprising plot twist which indicated a very explosive finale. It seemed the author didn't want the book to end and so he delayed the unavoidable ending as long as possible and let the main character babble on about his thoughts, his intentions, his plans - whatever. I would have preferred to come to the end - which was quite satisfying - sooner and faster, which would surely have doubled its wow-effect. Overall I did enjoy the book, but would have preferred its abbreviated version.
