Jenifer Gershman lives with her husband, Steven, and son, Jason, in [Maynard] Massachusetts. In 2007, at the age of 38, Jenifer was diagnosed with amyloidosis, a rare blood protein disorder which, left untreated, is fatal. Without prompt and proper treatment, the prognosis is approximately 12 to15 months. Jenifer underwent high dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant ... TWICE ... both in 2007 and 2008. Her son Jason was only 4 years old at the time of her first treatment. She is currently in remission and happy to be living a healthy and active life with her family.
