Autorenporträt
Eleanor Lawrie enjoyed a career as a professional flutist which was cut short by an injury. Writing was an enjoyable pastime, so she joined a writers' group for support and inspiration. The first SHELBY story was written shortly thereafter and enthusiastically approved by the group, who encouraged her to continue. Shelby led the way through the subsequent 23 stories with his insatiable curiosity, a mix of naughtiness at times and his desire for adventure.
