About the Author: Born in Salisbury, England, Elaine Blick moved to New Zealand after World War II. She is a retired teacher and now divides her time between both countries. Although her book is fiction, it is based on her teaching experiences. "When I heard that our old home in Nelson, which had been in the family since 1842 was going to be sold, I felt compelled to preserve its memory by writing a story set there."
