Photographer: Paul Barbera Paul Barbera was born in Melbourne, Australia and currently resides in New York City. He is a photographer with an observational reportage style whose work spans from cultural anthropology through to luxury living, working with people and interiors. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts. With an adaptable yet distinct visual approach, his assignments regularly take him around the globe, working with publications like Mr Porter (shooting Massimo Vitali), Vogue Living (covering the Milan Design Fair), Wallpaper* , Frame (shooting Gaetano Pesce) and Elle De¿cor, with and clients including Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Starbucks, Bugaboo and Dedon. He has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, The Paris Review and Forbes. His previous book in this series, Where They Create (Frame Publishers), is available globally. Barbera has recently turned his long-term online passion project Love Lost Project into an ongoing series of publications with a limited-edition book available from Dashwood Books in New York. Text by Kanae Hasegawa Kanae Hasegawa is a design journalist who lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. Her interest in the insatiable desire of humans - especially artists and other creatives - to express themselves through visual art or objects led her to study the history of art and design. Hasegawa has written for a number of previous books from Frame Publishers and is a regular contributor to numerous design-led publications, such as Frame, Axis and Departures.
