Peter Damen in 1954 with the rest of his family immigrated to Australia at only 12 years of age from the Netherlands. Working as a qualified Toolmaker he decided to attend a Sales and Marketing diploma course at night school and became a Product Manager of a large company. Eventually after changing direction again he took ownership of two Health Food shops which he ran with the help of his wife Maureen. He has travelled extensively overseas and throughout Australia and now in retirement helps out with the Welfare Department at the local Salvation Army Corps. Having a love for reading Peter decided that there was an opportunity to share his feelings for Australian history and how it can affect people's daily lives.
