Life doesn't always show up the way you expect it to. For most of her life, Lucy, seventeen, has known nothing of her birth parents, creating a myth of a young, struggling couple who wanted to give her a better chance at life - something the Moretti family provided. Lucy loves her parents and four siblings, so much that she worries they'll feel they're not enough if she broaches the subject of the family who might have loved her first. But then she stumbles upon a translucent man dressed as if he's from the 1800s, and she can't help but wonder who he is, why she's seeing him, and how on Earth she can look right through him. While searching for answers, Lucy is set on a path to discovering everything she has ever wanted to know about her birth family - and some things she didn't. Now, she's determined to finish what she started, and her journey to uncover her history takes her around her home turf of Chicago to Virginia and all the way to the castle of Dunvegan, Scotland. Through it all, Lucy is determined to see her birth parents, one way or another, and hopefully find herself along the way.
